August 20, 9:00 AM
Two (2) 5 X 7 Photos are to be turned in with your application. Photos will not be returned. Your photos do not have to be professional.
You are being handed an excellent opportunity to be creative and show us your personal favorite western attire. Choose outfits that make you feel good. Western hat and boots are required throughout the competition. This pageant is NOT about who has the biggest budget for clothes or which girl has been groomed best by a professional pageant coach. Keep in mind, judges are more impressed with “how” you wear your clothing, rather than what you wear. A great smile combined with a confident posture is most impressive.
Contestants will speak with judges about their application information, appropriate current events, sportsmanship, and general horse knowledge. General rodeo questions will be asked.
Each contestant is allowed to bring ONE ITEM to the interview. (An article of clothing, sentimental piece of horse equipment, photo, scrap book, etc.) This is not a requirement, but may serve as an excellent avenue to break the ice with judges, personalize your time in the spot-light and leave a lasting impression with the crowd.
All ages should be able to introduce themselves on microphone. Modeling will be a “fashion show.” Be prepared to speak about your outfit, with special attention to maker, design and detail.
Queen/Teen 1-2 minutes
Princess No minimum
Be ready to speak on microphone. Topics will be given at Orientation
Be ready to go 30 minutes prior to rodeo performance. Each contestant must be present for the grand entry. Individual presentations will take place mid-rodeo. LONG SLEEVES, WESTERN HAT AND BOOTS REQUIRED.
All contestants, safety is our first priority. No need to feel intimidated by a judged event. Bring a horse that helps you display your current level of skill and talent. All contestants failing to exhibit control over her horse, either during competition or otherwise will be removed from that phase of competition for the safety of ALL participants.
